God’s household of life is threatened in various ways in an era of dangerous paradoxes. The neo-liberal economic paradigm of “global free markets” has amassed more material wealth than ever in the hands of a small minority. The very processes of wealth creation have engendered massive inequalities and highly destabilizing trends. The lives of the poor are being sacrificed for the gains of the rich.

The present world development model is threatening the lives and livelihoods of many, especially among the world’s poorest people and destroying bio-diversity, impacting sea levels arise, variability of monsoon increased frequency, intensity of extreme wealth events, melting glaciers and snow, droughts, floods and stress in agriculture and livestock’s.

Gender inequality is most serious and pervasive form of discrimination in the world. While this affects everyone, it is women and girls who face the most discrimination as a result of gender inequality which is a key driver of poverty and a fundamental denial of women’s right.

Economic, gender and concern for creation justice is a significant focus of Ecumenical Commission for Human Development, based on the principle of the sovereignty of God in all spheres of life, including a commitment to faithful living and an affirmation of the regulation of life according to God’s will.

Care for creation, and fair, and equitable use of the earth’s resources are central goal of Ecumenical our program, which is open to people of all faiths seeking to identify and oppose economic injustice, ecological destruction.

Ecumenical Commission for Human Development is supporting for equality between women and men in church and society to enable for the transformation of gender relations and partnership. ECHD also challenge patriarchal, address gender injustice, strengthen women’s participation in ecumenical movement, promote positive masculinities and to facilitate transformation, renewal of church and society.
